BACK TO BASICS (AGAIN)!

As a quilter, it's nice every now and then to get back to basics...like this little quilt...

I had purchased (a looooong time ago) a charm pack and yardage for a project I wanted to try. It got put away and semi-forgotten.  In an effort to finish up some quilts for a craft fair coming up in November (don't gasp, it's really only three months away) and to use up some older fabric in my stash, I decided just to make a simple patchwork quilt!  After spending an entire today cutting and sewing a billion triangles (okay, maybe a few hundred) for another quilt, it was a pleasure to see this little quilt come together so easily!  The fabric doesn't really suit my taste any longer (I think this was one of my earliest purchases when I first began quilting), but it's really sweet!

In other news, allow me to introduce Mara...

This sweet little girl joined us about a week ago. She's had a terrible life so far but she seems quite happy here with us and our other tabby Stewart! She's been hanging out in my sewing room with me.  She is very curious about what I'm doing and loves to watch me sew and cut fabric!  She's been welcome company!
Have a great long summer weekend to my Canadian readers!

  1. A simple charm quilt, but it's the quilting that brings the magic, well done. I also have purchases I brought long ago and are still sitting about waiting to be made into something to treasure. Mara is another wee treasure, love those beautiful markings and pink lil ears!

    1. Yes...she is a rescue, as are all our kitties! She was living in a lane and eating garbage to survive. She gave birth to six kittens and they were all taken in by a shelter.
